In The Warehouse Gym Oranmore we have a wide variety of classes available to members and non-members. Listed below are descriptions of some of the classes we have to offer. View our current class timetable HERE.

Tabata

One of the most common High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout styles is Tabata, which consists of eight rounds of 20 seconds of work at 100% of your effort, followed by 10 seconds of rest, for a total of four minutes. HIIT workouts meet you where you are whether you’re a beginner or advanced athlete. Tabata has been dubbed as the “4-minute fat burning miracle”.

Spinning Circuits

Spinning is a high-energy, aerobic workout done on a stationary bike. The beauty with this low-impact workout is that is doesn’t stress your joints. Spinning has the potential to be high calorie burn activity with great toning benefits as well as improving your cardiovascular health.

Our Spinning circuits class is split between working on a spinning bike and traditional ‘station’ based circuit training.  It covers cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance all in one massive ‘HIIT’!

HIIT

High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is defined as short, intense, unsustainable bursts of physical activity, paired with intervals of quick rests.  This type of intense training has a much greater metabolic effect when compared to steady state cardio and can result in the body burning calories at a higher rate up to 48-72 hours later. HIIT can also increase improve cardiac function and produce faster gains in endurance levels.

Our HIIT class creates a good mix of body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Designed to push our participants harder than they’d push themselves. We want you to have tons of fun but willing to sweat and push yourself to the next level of fitness.

Zumba®

Zumba is a fitness program that combines music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — and resistance training.

If you enjoy Zumba, you’re also more likely to do it regularly — and experience its benefits as an aerobic exercise. Improve your cardio endurance and blood circulation by moving your whole body. Sweat while you boogie to put smile on your face and help reduce stress while burning up to 500 calories in just 1 class!! Dancing improves your balance, range of motion and could even help with and aches and pains.

Bootcamp

A boot camp is a good fun way to hit full body high intensity session that offers a lot of variety to keep things interesting and challenging. One of the many benefits of our bootcamp class is that it offers a taster of many different styles of training and gets you healthy, fit and active. It is also a highly motivational class to kickstart or revamp your fitness journey

Pilates

Pilates is simply…Strength and Flexibility with CONTROL. Pilates classes can be slow paced and as you get stronger and gain experience, they can be extremely tough and fast paced. The benefits of Pilates can be appreciated by all. Pilates is for everybody.  “whatever you do, sit at a desk all day, play golf, attend the gym, rugby, pre/post-surgery…Pilates is suitable for you. I often describe Pilates as, the required strong roots to your health and fitness, just like an oak tree, you need strong roots”

Our experienced Pilates instructor will teach you how to move your body correctly.  Once you move correctly you get those great abs and those workout results that you desire. You can also expect to reduce a lot of pain by now moving your body correctly – a double benefit!!

Bums, Tums, and Thighs

Our ‘Legs, Bums and Tums’ gym classes are a fun filled way to help tone up your bum, tum and legs. Our classes will incorporate squat exercises, great for building strength and toning up your thighs and bottom. There is a good chance that you will have to get on the floor and do those tough crunches and twists to give your abs a really good workout.

Bums, Tums, and Thighs is great for anyone who wants to lose weight, as it is fantastic calorie burning workout which targets targeting those problem areas. It is also great for those who just generally want to get fit and raise their stamina with some aerobic exercise.

Spin and Core

Spinning is a high-energy, aerobic workout done on a stationary bike. Whether you’re looking to gain a boost in performance or drop a few pounds, spinning has you covered. Spinning has the ability to aid both endurance and cardiovascular health.

Our Spinning circuits class is done in intervals of working on a spinning bike and a variety of exercises that target all aspect of your core.

Circuit

Circuit training is when you alternate between several exercises that target different muscle groups. For example, you might move from a lower-body exercise to an upper-body exercise to a core exercise, then another lower-body move, upper-body move, and core move before repeating the circuit.

The whole idea of circuit training is to work different muscles all at the same time with a minimum amount of rest. Because you alternate which body part you’re targeting, one muscle group rests while the other is working, making for a more effective workout that not only builds strength but also keeps your heart thumping and revs your metabolism too.

Kung Fu and Self-Defence

Kung Fu training has numerous health benefits which include overall improvement of physical condition of the body as well as benefiting emotional and mental states of those who practice it regularly. Develop both power and flexibility by getting your entire body involved. Health benefits may include lowering blood pressure, increasing blood circulation, strengthening the immune system and improving sleep quality.

Our Kung Fu and self defence class is purely for our members own personal development so there are no belts and no competitions.

Yoga

The word ‘yoga’ means union. It is a practice that connects the body, mind, and spirit through different body postures, meditation, and controlled breathing.

Yoga is not just about bending or twisting the body and holding the breath. It is a mechanism to bring you into a state where you see and experience reality just the way it is. If you allow your energies to become exuberant and ecstatic, your sensory body expands. This enables you to experience the whole universe as a part of yourself, making everything one – this is the union that yoga creates.
